East Child Care Resource and Referral Center
East Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) is part of a statewide network of Resource and Referral agencies located across Tennessee www.tnccrr.org. The network, which is funded by TN Department of Human Services, TN Department of Health – Division of Family Health and Wellness, and Signal Centers Inc., includes six sites across the state and a network office. East CCR&R provides services to child care agencies, parents/caregivers, and community partners focused on families in 21 counties in Eastern Tennessee.
Tennessee Child Care Provider Training TNCCPT
East CCR&R conducts specialized, free training year-round for child care agencies through the TDHS-approved Tennessee Child Care Provider Training (TNCCPT) program on the following topics:
- Child care administration
- Health and safety
- Child development
- Developmentally appropriate practices and behavior management
- Early childhood and childhood education
Targeted Techincal Assistance is offered on site at child care agencies for a specific topic/area. Working with childcare directors, administrators, infant/toddler, preschool, and school age program staff, and family and group home providers, CCR&R specialists are able to target assistance to meet their needs.
CCR&R specialists offer technical assistance to child care agencies, parents, and families on a variety of topics including:
- Child development/milestones
- Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP)
- Positive guidance and discipline
- Health and safety issues
Services for Parents and Communities
Parent Referral Services
East CCR&R supports local parents in their 21 county area through educational and referral services. Using an updated database CCR&R staff locate child care that meets the family’s specific needs (location, hours of operation, and specific needs of the child). A detailed, report for each matching agency will be sent, as well as a variety of resources including how to select quality child care, to the family via e-mail, mail, or fax.
Educational Resources for Families and Others
East CCR&R has a number of printed and electronic educational resources to share with families and other community members. Information available at CCR&R office includes:
- Tennessee’s Child Care Report Card and Star-Quality Programs.
- Selecting quality child care.
- Preparing children for child care.
- Health and safety issues.
Parents and community members are also invited to borrow resource books and videos from our lending library.
